Court remands prophet in prison for raping own daughter

A 41-year old Prophet Benjamin Bernard on the order of a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Benin, Edo State capital was yesterday ordered to be remanded in prison.
Bernard was accused of raping his seven year old daughter, an offense which is against the law of the land and the Bible he claims to be preaching from.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Taiye Omoruyi, however refused to grant the accused bail.
According to the prosecutor, Kenneth Ugiagbe, the accused, who pleaded not guilty to the one count offense, violated his third daughter on January 26, 2016.
The victim told the court that after defiling her, the accused used a white handkerchief to clean her private parts and warned her not to mention it to anyone else, and threatened to kill her if she did.
