The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the All Progressives Congress Chairmanship Candidate in the local government election scheduled for next Saturday, July 24th Hon. Ladejobi Shuaib Adebayo, popularly known as Yobo as a son of his who was very steadfast in what he believes in and very loyal to the party.
Governor Abiodun stated this at the rally where he handed over the flag of the party to the candidate.
In presence of the candidate’s running mate in the election, Hon Ireti Adenugba, other party leaders, traditional and religious leaders as well as numerous party supporters, the Governor recalled how strong Yobo led some youth to resist the brigandage of powers that be before the 2019 election despite the threat to harm him.
” In a drizzling afternoon at Odogbolu town motor Park, Abiodun said Yobo never knew he will be the candidate of the party intially, but God has His own plan, saying in Yoruba.” eleyi kii see omo wa, eleyi omo mi ni”
…This is not ours son, but my son.
He enjoined all co contestants for the party’s tickets for the election to take it in their strides as only one person can be the winner ,promising all genuine contenders at the primaries will be part of the goverment either at the local government or at the state level to contribute their quota.
The Governor further said the state government has constructed many kilometers of
roads across the state and delivered over one thousand of housing units, but agreed more are still needed to be done and he will not rest on his oars in delivering more dividends to the people across the state.
He agreed no one goverment can do everything but that his goverment will leave an indelible mark that will be made under his stewardship.
He enumerated some of the projects that his goverment has carried out in addition to those he just awarded in the local government which included schools, health facilities and roads and asked the residents to own the project as it is theirs.
He specifically mentioned the new Ijebu Ode ( Ikoto)- Epe Expressway which was just completed and how proud he felt when he used the road recently.
YOBO thanked the Governor and the party leaders and other members for their support and promised to put in his best to fulfill his campaign promises.
On the entourage of Governor Abiodun were his deputy, Engr Mrs Noimot Salako- Oyedele who is the Chairman of the state’s local government election campaign committee, the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Shuaib Salis and other members of the Executive cabinet of the state led by Barr. Femi Ogunbanwo, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter Govermental Affairs who is an indigene of the local government.
