Torrential Rain In Lagos: Oregun Road Blocked As Bill Board Falls

rainfallLagosians woke up to a torrential rainfall early Wednesday after days of severe heat.

The rain which is said to be state-wide came with storms, thunder strikes and must have caused some damages.

Oregun road incidence is a visible one as a signage collapsed on the road blocking the ever busy road linking Ikeja and Ojota axis of the mainland.

At Ikorodu, a resident, Folake Odebode told National Wire that her fence broke down during the rain fall.

“My fence just fell with this rain,” she said during the Wednesday rain.

On how she plans to fix the fence which is an unplanned expense, she said, “The bricklayer is supposed to come tomorrow.”

The rain now subsiding in some parts started in many areas around 7pm when workers were trooping to work.

The Lagos State Government has been preparing for the 2022 rainfall months ago by clearing drainages and canals to free waterways and prevent possible flooding as the state is along the coast.
