The death of the late Ṣọ̀ún of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, last week was a rude shock to many.

He was perhaps one of the oldest traditional rulers in Yoruba land.

Below are six things you may not know about the late Ṣọ̀ún.

*He became the 20th Ṣọ̀ún in 1973.

*He learnt business from his uncles in Jos and started his own business in 1944.

*He scored 96 of 100 votes to emerge the 20th Ṣọ̀ún of Ogbomoso.

*He packed into the modern palace in 1978.

*He was 14 years old when his father died.

*The late Ṣọ̀ún was born on May 27, 1926, to the Gbagun ruling house.
