Senator Buhari Bags Man Of The Year Award

The representative of Oyo North Senatorial District, Senator Fatai Buhari, has been named the Oyo Herald Man of The Year 2017.

This was contained in a press statement issued on Wednesday by the Managing Editor of the Ibadan-based magazine,Bola Olalere.

According to the statement, the Senator’s “extraordinary representation and his empowerment activities in his constituency among other things made him to stand out among many contenders.”

Olalere said that the award would be presented to the Senator at the annual Oyo Herald Public Lecture, which will hold at the ABULA Event Centre in Ibadan on April 27, 2018.

“Dr Gbade Ojo, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, will deliver the lecture tiled ‘Sustaining Democracy; Roles of the Media.’

“A year preceding an election year is always crucial in the life of any nation and the sustainability of its democracy, hence all hands must be on deck to make sure that everybody work towards sustaining the democratic process,” noted the statement.

Olalere added that the media, as an important estate of the realm, should play its roles very well in sustaining the democratic process.

He explained that there is no other person that can do justice to the lecture that day better than Dr. Ojo, whom he described as an “erudite scholar and a politician.”

Other awardees include the Speaker ,Oyo State House of Assembly ,Rt. Hon Moses Adeyemo; Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr.Abiodun Odude; representative of Ogbomoso North Federal Constituency, Hon. Wumi Oladeji;representative of Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency, Hon. Bosun Oladele and the representative of Ibadan North East/South East Federal Constituency,Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina.

Others are:Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela; Commissioner for Lands and Housing,Hon.Ajiboye Omodewu; Chairman,Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Niyi Adeagbo; A PDP chieftain, Dr. Nureni Adeniran; Erelu Asa of Yorubaland, Funmi Rotiba;Fresh FM ace broadcaster,Mayor Isaac Brown; Abula Event Centre and Cool Global Interlinks Limited.
