Chairman, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State, Honourable Ebinyo Turner says the security of lives and properties of people living within Ogbia Local Government Area would be given priority attention just as he promised an all-inclusive developmental approach of the area.

Turner made this known to journalists in Yenagoa recently shortly after he was sworn into office by the state Governor, Seriake Dickson. According to the Chairman, while security takes the front burner appointment of more Ogbia sons and daughter in his administration would be carried out to forestall perceived marginalization of the communities within the local government area.

“Those who engage in kidnapping and other forms of criminality in Ogbia LGA, especially Ogbia town should know that I am now an executive Chairman, if you are caught, no big man should call to say he or she is my brother or son. I will not listen to you because it is a security issue.” He said.

The newly sworn in chairman while reiterating his commitment towards the infrastructural development of the area emphasized that as Executive Chairman, he now has the power of appropriation, hence the people of Ogbia should expect rapid transformation of the local government area, saying all ongoing projects kick-started during his time as caretaker chairman would be completed just as he promised more and evenly distribution of dividends of democracy.

Speaking in their separate remarks, the duo of Chief Gbalipre Turner, treasurer, Bayelsa chapter of the Peoples democratic party, PDP and one time caretaker committee chairman, Ogbia local government, now representing Ogbia constituency III in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Honourable Naomi Ogoli commended the state Governor for conducting the local government election amidst the threat that almost stopped the election from holding.

The PDP treasurer who is the biological father of the chairman and Ogoli called on the Ogbia people to rally round the chairman restating that it is only in unity that development would thrive.

You would recall that the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission, BYSIEC penultimate Saturday conducted local government election in the 8 local government areas of the state.
