In recognition of their selfless contributions to the welfare of military retirees, serving soldiers and humanity, Retired Members of Nigerian Armed Forces (REMENAF) is set to honour Mr. Femi Falana (SAN); Babajide Otitoju of TVC; Prof. Remi Adeyemo, Vice Chancellor, Lead City University, and Barr. Joe Nwokedi.
According to the National Coordinator and National Secretary of REMENAF, Comrade Abiodun Durowaiye-Herberts and Amb. Roy Oamien Okhidievbie respectively said in Lagos that the event is a follow-up to the suspended peaceful national protest earlier planned for August by veterans over some unpaid allowances.
In addition, it will also create a veritable avenue to liaise with their legal friends and the academic community.
Other recipients of the award are the Commandant, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos; the Anchor of the popular programme on TVC, Journalist Hangout, Mr. Ayodele Ozugbakun, Barr. Joyce Odua of FICMC, Mrs. Shade Alabi of Tripple T; Barr. Bayo Akinade of the Institute of Security, Nigeria, University of Lagos and Engr. Segun Ogunyanwo, (Registrar ICMC).
The event will hold on Friday, 11th September, 2020 by 9am at the Unilag Guest House, University of Lagos Conference Centre.
As part of the event, Femi Falana and few others would deliver a lecture on topical national issues before the commencement of the award.
However, in consonance with Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC) guidelines on Covid-19 on social gathering, attendance is in strict conformity with their rules hence the event would be streamed live on major online apps and channels to enable interested persons to be part of the event.
REMENAF is a registered body of concerned Military Veterans cutting across the ranks, ethnic, religious, and socio political interests with membership in over 25 states of the Federation and FCT.
