Aides to Prince Charles of England have to press his shoe laces, pyjamas and bedsheets with iron without leaving any creases and must squeeze an inch of toothpaste on toothbrush for him anytime he needs brushing.
The next in line to the throne of England Monarchy will arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday as Head of the Commonwealth and he may also come into the country with his toilet seats, reports have revealed.
According to Amazon Prime’s new documentary, “Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm,” Prince Charles is said to be living a very privileged life at Clarence House, with staff calling him the ‘pampered prince.’
Ironing a single bed sheet for the British royal family, for instance, can take up to one hour, with not a crease expected to be in sight thereafter.
Aide to the late Lady Diana, his former wife, Paul Burell, notes “everything is done” for the Prince and done to details, including the minutest of chores.
“On one occasion, he rang me from his library and he said, ‘Oh Paul, a letter from the Queen seems to have fallen into my wastepaper bin. Would you pick it out?’” Burell says.
The Prince of Wales and his wife, Princess Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, are expected in Nigeria from November 6 to 8, and their engagements include having audience with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, said one of the issues on the agenda of the royals was for Prince Charles to discuss solutions to the tension between farmers and herders in parts of the country.
Arkwright also noted that the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing ties between Nigeria and Britain as members of the Commonwealth.
A book by Tom Bowers, “Rebel Prince, The Power, Passion And Defiance Of Prince Charles,” which was released in March, also offers insight into the prince’s supposed “bizarre demands.”
One of the over 120 people interviewed for the book claimed that if Prince Charles was attending a dinner party at a friend’s house, “the host would be informed in advance that an aide would be delivering a bag containing the Prince’s food.”
It’s also claimed in the book that the Prince changes his clothes five times a day.
