Owoseni Out, Imohimi in as New Lagos CP

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has appointed Edgal Imohimi, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, as the new Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command.

Edgal was until his appointment the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Lagos State Police Command.

Although the signal is out, he is billed to take over from the incumbent, Fatai Owoseni, who has been running the helm of affairs of the state for two years.

It will be recalled that, Imohimi was only promoted to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police in June this year, while Chief Superintendents of Police Hope Okafor, Muyideen Obe, Bunmi Ogedengbe and Lawal Adebowale were promoted to Assistant Commissioners Police.

Earlier this month, he led the operation which saw the Baale of Ipakodo in Ikorodu, Lagos arrested following the gruesome murder of four family members at Ibeshe, Ikorodu.

The Command also uncovered a shrine and graves in the area, believed to be the domain of the dreaded Badoo cult group.

Imohimi will now take charge of the Lagos State Police Headquarters.
