LASTMA Rescues 8 Accident Victims At Anthony Village

Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) today, Monday, 7th August, 2023, has rescued another eight accident victims at Anthony inward Ojota, Lagos

In a statement by the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, said that Popoola Olushola ‘Commander’ (Kilo) led the rescue team disclosed that the accident involved a broken down truck with a fully loaded mass transit bus with registration No: KTU 850 YD.

Lastma Popoola disclosed further that prelimnary investigation revealed that the driver of the fully loaded commercial mass transit bus was on a top speed and lost control due to brake failure after noticing a broken down truck ahead of him.

He confirmed that Lastma Officials rescued eight injured accident victims, two males and six females.

“Immediately after the accident happened, Lastma Officials with support from Police men from Anthony Police Command quickly intervened and rescued eight injured victims among those passengers inside the commercial mass transit bus”.

Rescued victims were immediately rushed to nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.

The General Manager Mr Bolaji Oreagba while sympathizing with injured accident victims, enjoined motoring public particularly commercial bus drivers to be extra careful and ensure that the road is clear ahead and behind before over-taking on expressway across the State.
