Whenever a film is introduced as “the first of its kind,” it tends to generate two reactions: hype and skepticism.
“Omegamax Conspiracy” Ai Movie has had plenty of both. Marketed as Africa’s first fully AI-generated feature film, this project—produced and directed by Dr. Ope Banwo, Nollywood’s self-proclaimed “AI Movie Architect”—promised to redefine filmmaking by leveraging artificial intelligence for scriptwriting, animation, voice acting, and even music composition.
But now that the film has premiered, how much of that promise was delivered?
While it is a fact that Dr Ope Banwo’s Ai Movie is indeed the very first to premierre in Africa (one movie calle MakeMation also made the claim of being the first but it turned out MAKEMOTION is just a regular human acted movie with a subject matter that talks about AI), one must still ask: Was this movieby Ope BANWO an AI-powered cinematic revolution or just a gimmick riding the AI hype wave?
