Niger  State  Police  Command Disburses Over N64,715,630.84k  To Families Of  Policemen Who  Died In  Active Service

The Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command CP Monday Bala Kuryas, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman has  presented  cheques amounting to sixty-four million, seven hundred and fifteen thousand, six hundred and thirty naira, eighty-four kobo (#64,715,630.84k) to 30 different families of police personnel who died in active service in the Command between the year 2020/2021.

According to a Press statement issued  by the State Police Command’s  Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO) DSP Wasiu Abiodun and made available to the newsmen on Monday in Minna, “This welfare gesture is an initiative of the Inspector General of Police “Group Life Assurance” geared towards improving the lives and capacity of the families left behind by these heroic officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The statement added that while presenting the cheques to the next of kins of  the deceased Officers in the presence of family members, the Commissioner of Police appreciates the Inspector General of Police for such laudable initiative  to provide succour to the families of the deceased personnel and encouraged the beneficiaries to effectively manage and judiciously use the resources for a better welfare of the families.

The statement noted that the families who were overwhelmed by emotions expressed satisfaction, happiness and full of appreciation  to the Inspector General of Police, the Government and the State Commissioner of Police for their efforts in ensuring a better care for the bereaved families.

The families were also said to have   assured that the resources will be well managed towards an improved standard of living of the respective families left behind by the fallen Officers .
