Councilor representing ward 10 of Nembe Council Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Azibato Diete Johnson has commenced a training programme on e-Business for youths of his ward.

The event which the lawmaker has said was expected to run for three weeks is taking place at the conference hall of the Ministry of Agriculture and natural resources in Yenagoa,capital of the state.
Our Bayelsa source which has been following-up the event reports that interested youths of the ward in their numbers have thronged the training venue to participate in the programme.
National Wire gathered that the programme which is tagged: ‘Digital and Business Skill-up training’ is being facilitated by an entrepreneurial firm, ‘Global Path Notion’.

Speaking to National Wire,the Councilor hinted that he was moved by the need to engage youths of the ward through provision of empowerment avenues,saying with the current Economic realities on ground, Youths can only be taken out of the labour market by a deliberate efforts in providing them with various skills in addition to formal education.
He assured that with the massive turn up of youths for the programme,the ward and the Local government area would be impacted economically when the trainees start deploying the skills obtained to eked out a living.
Azibato who lauded youths for turning up in their numbers for the training, also thanked the Commissioner for Agriculture and natural resources,Chief David Alagoa for providing the venue for the programme, free of charge,saying the Commissioner has been a source of encouragement to him and a pillar of support since the event started.
He said, “this programme is one of my many empowerment schemes for my ward. Before now,I’ve also empowered more than 150 members of my ward with capital to start-up their businesses.
“But I’ve also executed some other infrastructure projects. One of such projects was the provision of portable drinking water for ‘Oguama’ one of the 12 communities of my ward which for over 35 years have not had good drinking water. And it gives me joy that atlast that community now has a borehole from where they get clean, treated water”.
Also speaking,the facilitator and founder of Global path Notion,Mr Ejim Israel rated the participants high, describing the councilor as a man with the desire to better the lots of his people and great empowerment initiatives.
He added, “When the councilor contacted us to facilitate this training, we initially thought distance of the ward and the LGA to Yenagoa would hinder the training,but now you can see for yourself, the Youths from both the far away communities of the ward and others who are not even from the ward are here participating in the programme”.
