A Federal high court sitting in Lagos has adjourned till 3rd of March,2025 when the trial of a Lagos business man Peter Olasubomi Olowe and his company Max Vision Global Concept Limited for obtaining by false pretences and issuing dud check will commence.
In a four count charge filed before the court by the Legal /Prosecution section of the Nigeria Police Special fraud Unit Milverton Ikoyi,Lagos, It was alleged in the said four count charge that Peter Olasubomi Olowe CARRYING on business in the name and style of MAX VISION GLOBAL CONCEPT LIMITE and MAX VISION GLOBAL CONCEPT LIMITED sometime in 2018 conspired together to commit a felony to with obtaining the sum of N24,783,109.00 by false pretences and issuance of dud cheques.
The money was alleged to have been collected from a company SEEDLAND AGRO-ALLIED LTD represented by one JOHNSON OLAYIWOLA MUYIWA on the understanding that they would supply raw cashew nuts and Seeds ( farm produce)to them a representation they knew to be false.
The two defendants PETER OLASUBOMI OLOWE and MAX VISION GLOBAL CONCEPT LIMITED were alleged to have issued two separate cheques totalling N20 million to SEEDLAND AGRO-ALLIED LTD represented by one JOHNSON OLAYIWOLA MUYIWA,but when presented for payment was dishonored on the ground that no funds or insufficient funds were standing to the defendants credit in the bank.
PETER OLASUBOMI OLOWE ‘M’ carrying on business in the name and style of MAX VISION GLOBAL CONCEPT LIMITED and MAX VISION GLOBAL CONCEPT LIMITED sometime in 2018 in Lagos was alleged to have conspired to commit a felony to wit: Obtaining the sum of N24,783,109.00 (Twenty-Four Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty -Three Naira, One Hundred and Nine Naira Only) by False Pretences and Issuance of Dud Cheques and thereby committed an offence contrary to punishable under Section 8 (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006, No. 14 of 2006 but punishable under Section 1.(3) of the same Act.
