The chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Local Government election in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu Tinuola, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing election, describing it as free and fair.
After visiting various polling units, the hopeful candidate commended the smooth conduct of the election, praising the efforts of electoral officers, security personnel, and the enthusiasm of voters.
“It is encouraging to witness such a strong turnout of voters, who are confidently exercising their civic rights without any fear or intimidation.
“So far, the process has been orderly, free, and fair, and I trust this will continue until the polls close,” Yakubu remarked.
He highlighted the professionalism of the election officials, noting that their impartiality has fostered trust in the process.
He however urged the residents of Irepodun to maintain peace throughout the election, stressing the importance of their role in a successful democratic exercise.
Tinuola also reassured the electorate of his unwavering commitment to the development and unity of the Local Government, regardless of the outcome.
“We remain committed to the progress, peace, and unity of Irepodun LGA. Together, we can build a brighter future for everyone,” he said.
He also thanked the APC leadership in Kwara State for their support and encouraged voters to remain alert until the official results are announced.
Irepodun Local Government Area was created in 1976 from the defunct Igbomina Ekiti Local Government Area. Located in Kwara South on 8.5381º N, 5.1431º E, the Local Government has an area of 737 km2 and a population of 148,610 at the 2006 census.
