…as Sanwo-Olu reiterates commitment to positive changes

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) World-wide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye urged individuals across the world to appreciate God for Nigeria.
The General Overseer made the call at the special thanksgiving to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, with the theme ‘King of Kings’, where prayers were made for the Executive arm of Government at Federal, State and Local Government levels, Politicians and Electoral institutions at Federal and State Levels, Students of Political Science,and everyone interested in good governance in Nigeria.
Prior to his sermon at the service attended by Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, Dr. Ibijoke, he noted that there was no nation as Nigeria even in the midst of her problems.
“You know by the grace of God I’ve travelled practically throughout the whole world from where the sun rises to where the sun sets. And I can say this with all boldness.
There’s hardly any nation on earth like Nigeria.
“Oh yes, we have our problems. But you know we hold the world record as the happiest people on earth. We
somehow, no matter how difficult the situation is, we know how to laugh.
“One day, myself and some of my children, we were in a shop in Britain, and we were discussing, and of course, we were laughing and one white lady came to me and said, ‘Your laughter makes me laugh.’
“I smiled. I said, ‘You don’t know anything’. We laugh at whatever. No matter the situation, the day when you will no longer be able to laugh will never come in your life.
“So those of you who are listening to me all over the world help me thank God for Nigeria.Help me thank God for Nigeria. Help me thank for . We are very wonderful people.”
In his speech, Sanwo-Olu corroborated the call for continuous thanksgiving for God’s protection over Lagos State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the nation at large.
He, however, reiterated commitment in serving and making positive changes.
Sanwo-Olu stated:”People of God, we’ll continue to thank you for your prayers. We’ll continue to thank you for working with us for joining us. We’ve been on this journey for over six years now.And we’re thinking that we still have a lot to offer.
“But God Almighty will make every of our requests to make it answer in Jesus’ name. On behalf of members of my cabinet and all of our workers in Lagos, our colleagues that have all come, we want to assure you of something that this government is a committed one.
“It’s one that we wish that we can do a lot more, we can do it quicker, we can do it faster, we can do it better. Like we said, we want changes to happen positively all around our various nooks and crannies. But you know, they always say sometimes, God Almighty will make it happen. And we will continue to thank you.
“God Almighty will make it happen. We’re just sojourners, and we’re in transit.And they will ask us, ‘what have we done over our time?’ I keep telling everybody that for as long as I have the breath, I will continue to serve, and I will serve well. My prayer is that God Almighty will take us on that destination well.”
