Workers in every clime are the strength of every nation, and it is the most responsible thing to do by every administration and public office holders to stand with the aspirations, travails and interest of the labour force.
This is because the workers are the engines that keep the wheel of government operations and the informal sector going and moving forward at all time.
These are the words of Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu, Member and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Rural Development in his statement to workers on this year’s Labour Day.
According to Honourable Adebutu, “it is unthinkable that in this age and time, and with all the advancement in human understanding and age of our democracy, any responsible government will still think of treating the welfare of its workforce with disdain. Economics of production is clear on this, of all the factors combined in the production process, while others remained constant, it is only the Labour that has the capacity to appreciate, regenerate and reorganise to give Surplus Values.
“It will therefore be unwise and unthinkable for any administrator not to give the genuine concerns, welfare, fears and aspirations of workers utmost attention.
“As we celebrate this year’s Labour Day, I felicitate with the Nigerian workers on this great remembrance day that was meant to constantly remind us of the sacrifices of all the men and women that toil in every nooks and crannies so that our wheel of progress can move.
“I stand with Labour! Solidarity for ever!! Aluta Continua! Victoria Acerta!! He declared.
