How Tricycle Robbers Were Nabbed In Awka

…as two firearms, incriminating items recovered

Police operatives attached to Central Police Station (CPS) Awka in conjuction with local vigilante group have arrested two armed robbers at Parkers, Ziks Avenue, Awka.

They were arrested following a distress call.

The suspects, Okafor Stanley, 19 years old of Ezeawulu village,Nibo and Benedith Sunday, 21 years old of Ifite Village Awkuzu were said to have allegedly attacked and snatched at gunpoint a tricycle from a Keke rider at Ziks avenue, Awka.

Exhibits recovered in their possessions included two locally made pistols and the snatched tricycle.

Meanwhile, the suspects have confessed to the crime and investigation was ongoing before prosecution.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed, Anambra State Police Command, said the command has reassured “Ndi Anambra” that it would continue to pursue criminals from all the nooks and crannies of the State until they repent or relocate from the State.
