One of the largest global conventions in 2019, to be held in over 200 countries and presented in over 400 languages, will be coming to Lagos and surrounding cities between August 30 and December 20.
Jehovah’s Witnesses will host a global series of three-day conventions featuring the theme “ Love Never Fails .” It is anticipated that there will be an attendance of about 45,000 at 39 conventions to be held at Lekki, Badagry and Daluwon Assembly Halls.
“These events will illustrate the positive influence that love can have to bring people together from diverse backgrounds,” states Mr. Jama Onwubuariri, a local representative for Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The convention program will examine how Bible principles help people in practical ways, according to a statement made available by Onwubuariri.
The Friday program, the statement said, “will address how love can help people surmount obstacles such as a troubled upbringing, chronic illness, or poverty. Saturday’s program will consider how Bible principles help husbands, wives, and children to show love for one another.
“Sunday’s program will include a public Bible discourse entitled True Love in a Hate – Filled World — Where ? that will address overcoming prejudice and hatred.”
Our correspondent reported that the global convention series are already underway in other parts of the world, especially in one of the locations in the United States where he witnessed over the weekend how people numbering more than 7,000 were given “life enriching instructions.”

Times and locations for these public conventions can be found on the official website of Jehovah’s Witnesses, jw.org. and the projected attendance each weekend is put at 2,000.
At the Badagry Hall located opposite the popular Limca Bus Stop, conventions are scheduled in English, Gun, Pidgin and Yoruba languages for each Friday through Sunday, between September 13 and December 20, 2019, except on the weekends of September 27 and October 25.
Also, at Daluwon, along the Mowe-Ofada Road, the conventions will be held Friday to Sunday between August 30 and December 20, 2019 in English, Igbo, Pidgin and Yoruba languages.
This is as the Assembly Hall at the Watchtower Drive near the Lekki Free Trade Zone will host conventions each Friday to Sunday between September 20 and December 6, 2019 in English, French, Pidgin and Yoruba languages.
The 2018 Statistics about Jehovah’s Witnesses put the population of the group’s members, worshiping in over 119,954 congregations, at 8,579,909, spread across 240 lands.
Worldwide, the peak attendance at their places of worship, called meetings, is 20,329,317 and their official website, jw.org, features 975 languages.
