A Truck loaded with Petrol Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol caught fire at the NNPC filling station at Alagbole-Akute road on Saturday morning.

A witness told our reporter that as soon as the fire gutted the tank inside the Filling station, the driver jumped into the truck and drove it out of the station into the road to avoid a huge conflagration engulfing the station.

“The boldness of the driver saved situation or else, we would have been talking about huge disaster or a black Saturday in Lagos,” she explained.

It was learnt that the filling station is bounded with two prominent private schools and an Estate.

However, for timely intervention of the Fire Servicemen from Alausa, they arrived promptly and are still combating the fire from spreading.
