After over 21 months that regular church activities were suspended at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), regular Sunday live service programmes and weekly activities is to resume on Sunday, 5th December, 2021 at its Ikotun-Egbe, Segun Irefin sprawling headquarters in Lagos.

The church activities was suspended at the outbreak of Coronavirus in 2020 leading to a Nationwide lockdown and restriction order.

Eventually, in June 2021, just as every Nigerian was trying to come out of the effects of the pandemic, the founder of SCOAN, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua died.

However, in a short statement released by the Media Aide in Lagos on Friday afternoon by Mr Dare Adejumoh said, “Late Prophet T B Joshua, the Founder and General Overseer of the Ministry had in March 2020 suspended the regular Sunday Services following the outbreak of Covid-19 pademic which almost paralyzed the whole world.

“Till his passing on June 5 this year, the church remained under lock unlike other churches who had commenced services since last year, saying: “he was yet to hear from God on church reopening, we will only reopen when we receive an instruction to do so from God”.

“There has been a lot of pressure from members globally for the church to resume services after the passing of the great man of God but the church’s new leadership under Prophetess Mrs Evelyn TB Joshua maintained the position of her late husband that “the reopening of the church for normal Sunday services will only commence with the intimation of the holy spirit” and that is what is now taking place.

“Besides, the mourning period of the God’s General would have been over.

The statement further stated that, “SCOAN has its own fair shares of the usual leadership and succession tussles in human affairs, an avoidable situation especially in The SCOAN but for the misguided few disciples all of whom have now retraced their wrong steps.

Reacting to the news of the reopening, a strong member of the he church, Mr. Babs Olorunwa, said the church today has been thoroughly reorganized for better performance. “The hand of God remains very strong upon this church with the few prayer gatherings I witnessed on the church mountain. I tell you categorically, God would never forsake His own. Synagogue Church Of All Nations is alive. Glory be to God”!

“The church resumption now is a response to the call of the Holy Spirit that the services begin as a manifestation of God’s anointing towards the glorification of His Mighty Name at this blessed, festive season.”

It would be recalled that shortly after the death of Prophet Joshua, there were leadership tussle and other internal squabbles following the dubious activities of some disciples who swooped on the treasury of the church and looted it like a behemoth.

Not done, they vehemently tried to extricate the wife of the founder, Prophetess Mrs Evelyn Joshua, from running the Church activities before the matter was eventually resolved through a court process.

This is the first time that the church would officially thrown its doors to members of the congregation for weekly service.

Also, incidentally, this will be the first time also that a new person would have to preside over the affairs of the church since its creation. Following the death of TB Joshua, the wife Evelyn Joshua was installed as the new leader and Board of Trustee.

In a statement on 12th September, 2021 by the head, SCOAN Legal Department, James Akhigbe ESQ said that “The public would recall that on the 9th of September, 2021, the Board Of Trustees (BOT) of the SCOAN appointed Mrs. Evelyn TB Joshua as its Chairperson.

This followed an order of the Federal High Court in Suit No. FHC/L/CP/1109/2021 which appointed Mrs. Evelyn T.B Joshua as a Trustee. The BOT had also appointed Mrs. TB Joshua as the new leader of the Church with ratification by over 2,000 strong jubilant congregation of the Church at a meeting on Thursday afternoon.

Following this, and in view of the discovery of huge cases of financial misappropriation perpetrated in the past few months, reckless individualism and unimaginable acts grossly antipodal to the Santuary with the passing of the founder, the church leadership took steps to secure certain critical assets of the Church with an authorization for a comprehensive audit of the activities of the Church since the call to glory of our Founder and General Overseer in the interest of the global church members and future of the church.

“We stand in the light and we cannot compromise the ideal and legacy of our mentor and founder, late Senior Prophet TB Joshua on integrity, spiritual worship, unconditional love and humanitarianism.”

The Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division holding at Ikoyi under Honourable Justice Tijjani Ringim had on Thursday, 9th September, 2021 gave a judgement appointing Mrs Evelyn Joshua as a trustee of Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).

Temitope Balogun Joshua was born on 12 June 1963 and died on 5th June 2021 and buried in July 2021.
