Federal troops pound fleeing insurgents in weekend raid

 

As the war against terror continues, the  Nigerian troops have
continued to make progress against the insurgents being dislodged from their strongholds.

There seems to be no hideouts left for the miscreants as the federal troops in a raid in Borno villages, killed five and made an arrest at the weekend.

Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, revealed on Sunday the Doksa, Biu Local Government Area operation led to the end of two members of the terrorist group while one Abdullahi was rounded up.

According to him, three of the Boko Haram terrorists were killed in Dure 1, Dure 2, Jango Dibiye.

Usman said two military uniforms, one General Purpose Gun, one AK 47 rifle and two locally made guns were also recovered from the Boko Haram fighters by men of the 231,331 battalions and others from the Armed Forces Special Forces 3 Division.

Also retrieved from the terrorists, who were found to be poisoning water sources and planting IEDs were, 25 motorcycles, 30 bicycles, grinding machines and some foodstuffs during the operation.

Usman also revealed that troops of the 122 Task Force Battalion and the 26 Task Force Battalion in a major operation cleared some Boko Haram camps in Dure, Sambisa where three of the insurgents were killed.
