The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) World-wide, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged youths and other Nigerians to be sensitive to utilising opportunities for financial breakthroughs.
Adeboye gave the counsel on Sunday at the July thanksgiving and special prayer service at the RCCG, headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, where he spoke on ‘Divine Opportunities’ and prayed for all stakeholders in the economic sector (public and private); self employed and entrepreneurs, job seekers, youth corp members, oil companies, unions, professional bodies and associations with their members.
Adeboye who spoke virtually from Mount Carmel Prayer Village Osun State, prayed also that individuals do not miss opportunities of financial breakthroughs, he cited references of individuals who both missed and made good use of opportunities.
Noting that the opportunity of being saved was the biggest opportunity, he said:”The African elders will tell you that opportunity is a man.A man that has plenty of hair in the front of his head,but the back of the head is bald.
“So they say once you see opportunity coming, you better grab him by the front of his head because the moment he passesby you and you try now to grab him, you will discover that the back of his headis bald, you try to catch it, then you will catch nothing.
“Everyone in life, everyone that God has created will get at least one major opportunity. You grab it, you are settled for life you miss it, that might be bye-bye.”
Corroborating Adeboye, Special Assistant to the General Overseer, who doubles as the Pastor in charge of Region 1, RCCG, Pastor Oladele Balogun also advised Nigerian youth to seek God to open their eyes and hearts to the opportunities that are in the country even in the midst of adversities.
He also called on the leaders to be selfless in grabbing opportunities, and make researches in order to make life better for the people.
Balogun stated: “The last time I was in the UK, I had to help people. So many of them were stranded. So some people just believe that once you are able to relocate, that is the end of your problem.
“It doesn’t work like that. There are so many opportunities in Nigeria. People are making it and they are still doing well.They are still making it. But what we need to tell our youth is that, number one, be prayerful. Get connected to God.
“Let God open your eyes. Opportunities are there. Only God knew the number of opportunities that came with COVID.Even churches, we have been telling people that there is need for us to digitalize. But when COVID came, we grabbed the opportunity.”
Addressing leaders, he added:”There are so many opportunities that are in Nigeria.Let them be sensitive and grab those opportunities for the well-being of the society. For example, here in Nigeria, we have a lot of sun. In fact, it’s one of the reasons why you see some people in the West, when it was their own winter, all they want to do is to travel, travel.
“By now, we shouldn’t be complaining of electricity. We should look for alternative energy. We can get from solar and so on and so forth.That’s just an example. There are other opportunities God has given to us. Our leaders can be sensitive.They can carry out research, see it, not for their own benefit, but for the benefit of the general society. Nigeria will move forward.”
