Diocese Of Igbomina West Announces Synod

The Diocese of Igbomina West, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), has concluded arrangements to hold the Second Session of its Fourth Synod.

The Diocese domiciled in Iludun-Oro, Kwara State is also in the Ecclesiastical Province of Kwara.

Announcing during a radio program; Hymns of Praise, a Sunday evening program on Metro FM, Lagos recently, the presenter and Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Igbomina West, the Right Reverend Olajide Adebayo, said the Synod would hold between Friday 18th and Sunday 20th June 2020 at the St. Barnabas  Anglican Church, Sanmora, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Synod theme: “We Rise and Stand Firm” is taken from Psalm 20:7-8. The event is expected to attract participants from the Diocese and beyond. It also promises to be a time of refreshment in the presence of God.

According to the organisers, the event shall be flagged off on Friday 18th by 2pm with an opening service. The Saturday session shall start by 10am while there shall be a thanksgiving service by 8am on Sunday the 20th June.

The Diocese of Igbomina West was inaugurated in 2019 and it is one of the eight Dioceses within the Anglican Province of Kwara which itself is one of the 14 Provinces within the Church of Nigeria.
