The “lockdown” order by the both Governments’ of Federal and Lagos State has revealed the deficit scheme of housing in the State. This was confirmed when nationalwire.com.ng visited the Muritala Mohammed International Airport and other parts of Lagos.
All shady corners have been renovated. And security mounted everywhere. Obviously the security Officers at the entrance of the MMIA 1 are to attend to any security issue that may arise when alerted.When our team approached the Officer and told him of our intention to take photographs of inside the airport apartments, the Officer declined outrightly. He immediately directed us to another superior Officer. He said we should have contacted the management before now to seek for permission to take the photographs of the building.
When we try to convince the superior officer about the urgency of the photographs, his countenance changed, hence, no one told us it was time to leave.
Meanwhile, we had already taken shots outside of the building as we were gaining entrance to the MMIA 1 from the rear of the car park. We shot severally at will without the knowledge of any of the officers on ground. Therefore we proceeded on our journey.The next destination we reach is Agege market. There is total compliance. Everywhere was under lock and key. Except for the Abokis that could be seen roaming about and staying inside a make shift building. They are homeless! Still they observe their daily routine under the make shifts.
When the writer of this piece brought his camera to snap them most of them were covering their faces from the direction of the camera. They were scared of showing their faces to the public.
