A 57-year-old man, Joseph Akporugo, and his wife, Janet, have been arrested by the Ogun State police command for maltreating a seven-year-old granddaughter on allegation of witchcraft.
The little girl, who is the granddaughter of the man, has been living with the couples since she lost her biological father.
Trouble started for the couples after the girl ran to the house of a police Constable that lives close to their house in Awa-Ijebu and reported to him about the maltreatment melted on her by her grandfather and his wife.
With wounds all over her body,
she narrated how the couples used burnt plastic rubber to burn her skin on the allegation of being a witch adding that she used her witchcraft to kill her biological father.
Having listened to her explanations and coupled with the lacerations on her body, the Constable took her to Awa-Ijebu police station where the case was reported.
