Kano State government has revealed that it has introduced measures to save wheat farmers in the state against possible glut of the produce in the grain markets and also to save them from the activities of middlemen.
This was disclosed by Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during the the official launching of the commencement of 2017 wheat harvest programme held at Garun Babba village of Garun Malam Local Government.
According to the governor, after recording bumper harvest especially in wheat; the state government has approved N50 million as interest free loan to wheat farmers across the state, adding that warehouse system was also introduced across various locations in the state where farmers would register to keep their produce to save them from the menace of middlemen.
