The University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre (UIDLC) has issued a public disclaimer to protect prospective learners from falling victim to a fraudster posing as an authorized representative of the institution.
The management has identified one Hannah Omolaja, operating with account number 8152809427 at PalmPay, who has been soliciting payments for acceptance and school fees into her private account.
In a statement signed by Dr. Morounfoluwa O. Oyebola, Deputy Registrar and Secretary of the UIDLC, the institution categorically denied any association with Hannah Omolaja. The management emphasized that it has not authorized any individual or corporate entity to collect fees on its behalf.
All payments for UIDLC fees must be made through the official student portal, using the government-recognized payment gateway, Remita, at https://dlcportal.ui.edu.ng/login.
The UIDLC strongly warned prospective learners to avoid any financial transactions with Hannah Omolaja, clarifying that she is not known to the institution. “Anyone who transacts business with her does so at their own risk,” the statement cautioned.
This disclaimer serves as a reminder for students to follow official payment procedures to avoid falling prey to fraudulent schemes. For further clarification, learners are encouraged to contact the UIDLC directly through its official communication channels.
