The member representing Ogbia constituency I and deputy leader of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Hon Chief Mitema Obordor has floored his opponents, Barrister Johnbull Azibataman and Mr. Prince Okinima in the Assembly Primaries Conducted by the Peoples Democratic Party.
Announcing the result, Friday in Otuoke, former President Jonathan’s hometown, the chairman PDP Primary Election Committee for Ogbia Constituency I and former Chairman, Caretaker committee, Ogbia Local Government Area, Hon Ebiango Egain declared Obordor the winner scoring a total of 54 votes to defeat Johnbull who garnered 1 vote and Mr. Oknima who had no vote respectively.
Speaking to newsman shortly after he was declared winner, Chief Obordor said he would consolidate on his achievements during his first tenure, maintaining that the cardinal objective of his legislative office is anchored on equal and consultative representation.
The Deputy Leader said the people and his support base believe that he is representing them well, hence they returned him through the party primaries to stand as their candidate in the 2019 House of Assembly Election.
Obordor said, “I shall continue to speak onbehalf of my people, my constituency and party believe I am representing them well, so you can see they have given me victory ones again to consolidate on our achievements.”
Also speaking, the Chairman PDP Primary Election Committee for the Constituency, Ebiango Egain commended party faithfuls and supporters for their show of respect and resilience, maintaining that through their prayers and commitment he was able to conduct a free, fair and credible Primaries.
The Electoral committee chairman said the delegates to the primaries have decided who should fly the party’s flag for the Constituency seat in the State House of Assembly, come 2019.
While all efforts to speak with Barrister Johnbull and Mr. Okinima yielded no results as at the time of press, from sources we learnt that Mr. Okinima has congratulated Chief Obordor and has since thrown his support for him. The sources concluded that Johnbull will also be toeing same path with Okinima as Party faithful.

The umbrella body of PDP members loyal to the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson says Chief Mitema Obordor means well for the people of Ogbia Constituency I and the entire Ogbia Kingdom.
The Vice Chairman of the political group, Mr. Ebiegberi Isaiah stated this, Friday in an interview with Journalists in Yenagoa at the reception organized by friends and well wishers of the Deputy Leader of the Bayelsa House of Assembly to commemorate his victory at the primaries.
Isaiah said the numerous scholarships, infrastructural projects and accessible representation chief Obordor is giving not only to his constituency, but the entire Ogbia Kingdom and by extension the state are testimonies of an impactful representation, hence the Peoples Democratic Party through the delegates have had course to return him as their candidate for the 2019 election.
