The Bayelsa State Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) has passed a vote of confidence on the Acting State Chairman and South-South Zonal Secretary, Barr. George Turnah.
A Statement from the Party’s Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary, Mr Alasuote Wright states that the PDP leadership during its regular State Working Committee meeting on Monday 4th 2025 held in Yenagoa, the State capital after fruitful deliberations commended Turnah for his selfless and tolerant disposition as a leader, while also resolving to work together to make the Party greater.
The Statement added that the leadership of the Party resolved to be more commitment to the good of the Party, while also reaffirming its dedication to working diligently for the advancement of the Party and the welfare of its ever-growing membership in Bayelsa State.
The Statement read in parts: “Members in the meeting acknowledged and commended the Acting Chairman, George Turnah, MON, for his exceptional leadership and proactive approach in repositioning the Party for future political successes.
“The meeting approved the formal assumption of office by Hon. Ato Alfreda as Interim Secretary of the Bayelsa State PDP Caretaker Committee.
“Hon. Alfreda is entrusted with the vital role of spearheading the operations of the Secretariat of the Party .
“The new Acting State Secretary, Hon. Ato Alfreda has been mandated to initiate immediate preparations for the commissioning of the newly acquired PDP State Secretariat in Yenagoa. This step is crucial for enhancing the Party’s operational capacity and outreach.
“The Committee emphasizes unity and collaboration among all members as it moves forward in the spirit of growth and development”.
