Bayelsa Councilor Powers Community With Solar Lights, Empowers Constituents With Skills

 

Councilor representing Ward 8 of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s Ogbia council area of Bayelsa state,Hon. Jerome Williams Ebhela has lit up Imiringi community with solar powered street lights.

This our source learnt was part of his ward project for his second year in office as councilor.

Speaking with Journalists in Imiringi,his home town,the Ogbia local government area Legislator reiterated his desire to make life more meaningful for humanity through any leadership position he occupies.

He commended the lawmaker representing Ogbia constituency 3 in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly,Hon Naomi Ogoli whom he said had earlier provided solar powered lights for part of the community,noting that he was motivated by her commitment to complimenting the gesture of the Assembly member as a grassroot legislator by installing same solar lights were her’s magnanimity had not yet covered.

Imiringi is an oil producing community in the Kolo Creek Cluster of Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa state,sharing ward 8 of the LGA with sister Elebele community.

“I felt it was the right of my constituents to have whatever I’ve done for them.

“So I’ve not done this to score any political gains,no,it’s my duty as the councilor representing them to in my little capacity make life more meaningful to them.

“The prosperity government of Senator Douye Diri has given councilors in the state a marching order to execute ward projects in their respective wards, so this is just one of such projects I’ve done and I intend do more for my ward”, he said.

Ebhela whom a cross section of constituents have earlier said has organized trainings on skills acquisition in the ward for both men and women noted that he intent to replicate a similar ward project in the sister Elebele community, saying plans have reached advanced stages.

“Already I’ve reached the leadership of Elebele community, even if it would cost me my salary as a legislator,I would still have to do a project in that community”, he said.

“What’s there? I’ve before now been using my salary to foot bills for some of my ward programmes and projects”, he added.
