Adopt New Approach To Agitation, Amnesty Boss Charges N’Delta Youths

The lnterim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Miland Dikio (rtd) has charged youths of the Niger Delta to deploy civilized approach in the course of their agitation for development of the oil rich region.
The Amnesty boss gave the advice on Friday during the inauguration of the 8th executive council of the ljaw National Congress (INC) at the ljaw House in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
Stating that agitation for one’s fundamental rights was normal, Dikio urged the aggrieved people of the Niger Delta, especially the youths, to use modern means to go about it so they could attract federal government’s attention instead of doing it the other way around.
“My advice to all of you is that we should and must adopt a new approach to advocacy. By that approach, l mean promoting excellence.
“We live in a federation of so many moving parts. So, it behooves on us to strategize by networking and forming partnerships across the various ethnic nationalities,” he said.
The Amnesty helmsman, while felicitating with the newly inaugurated INC executives, promised to lend his support in advancing the interest of the Ijaw Nation worldwide.
The INC inauguration event had the Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Douye Diri, Deputy Governor of Delta state, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro, traditional rulers and other eminent sons of the ljaw Nation in attendance.
