While all roads lead to kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway, venue of the May edition of the Holy Ghost night organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), an accident, Friday afternoon has claimed unconfirmed number of lives on the ever busy highway.

An eye witness, Omolara Ogunlowo, called Newsscreenng from the scene of the accident around Mowe in Ogun State.

According to Ogunlowo, a member of the RCCG, who was in a vehicle in company of her immediate family to attend the Holy Ghost night, “the accident occurred while we were moving to the camp around 3pm. We always like to leave home early so as to beat the traffic and rest before the program starts. That was how we saw the accident,” she said.

Stating further, she said, screaming, at the scene of the accident that, “I can’t confirm how many people died but at least one body is lifeless and lying on the highway, other bodies are secreted here on the road as well but rescue operations are underway. I pray for survivors because it is so terrible here as I speak.”

It would be recalled that on Tuesday, an earlier accident created a terrible traffic that got commuters stranded on same highway.
It is not certain whether victims of the Saturday accident were on their way to the Holy Ghost night of the RCCG.

Commuters using the Lagos-Ibadan expressway within the next 24 hours should however brace up ahead of the expected traffic grid lock that could happen as a result of vehicular traffic moving in and out of the RCCG camp and the Power Must Change Hand prayer program of the Mountain of Fire Ministries holding on Saturday.
