Police Operatives Arrest Adulterated Engine Oil Dealer, Confiscate 280 Gallons Of Fake Oil

Operatives of the Nigeria Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, in its sustained fight against economic sabotage, have arrested and arraigned a suspect involved in the production, importation, and distribution of adulterated engine oil products across Nigeria.

Following a written petition submitted by the complainant to the Office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Lagos, under the leadership of AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, alleging the unlawful adulteration of his engine oil product, a team of intelligent detectives from the Zonal Anti-Piracy Unit swung into action.

In the course of investigation, a suspect, one Ngwu Samuel Ebezimakor, 26 years old and a male, was arrested.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect is the mastermind behind the production and importation of the adulterated products from China, which were subsequently distributed across various states of the Federation.

A total of 280 gallons of adulterated engine oil were recovered from multiple locations across Imo, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, and Ogun States.

Further investigation was extended to the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), where it was confirmed that the recovered exhibits do not conform with the requirements of the relevant Nigerian Industrial Standards.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, has reaffirmed the Zonal Command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against economic sabotage and other crimes across Lagos and Ogun States, while ensuring the protection of lives and property and safeguarding legitimate enterprises.

He emphasized that all individuals involved in economic crimes will face the full wrath of the law.
