Greater Tomorrow, a group in the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has called for unity and sustenance of the legacy of CCC Founder, Prophet Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa.

The group under the leadership of Brother Samuel Ademola Bolaji, made the call during the logo unveiling, special presentation on ‘Music and its Effect on the Generation-40 Years After Papa SBJ’ and media interaction at CCC National headquarters in Makoko, Yaba, Lagos.

At the conference convened by Bolaji to officially commence the three-phased 40th transition anniversary celebration of Oshoffa – with the theme ‘Eniti Aran, Akanda Eniyan’ (The Sent, The Enigmatic), he noted that it was necessary to bridge generational gap by bequeathing the legacy laid by Oshoffa especially to the upcoming generations.

Bolaji, who stressed Oshoffa’s passion for children and the need for them to be well-versed in the scriptures and carried along in the church’s system, said that the first phase of the anniversary would feature general prayers for the church, Nigeria and the world on May 23 at the National Headquarters of the church in Makoko.

According to him, the International Juvenile Bible competition would hold on May 24, followed by the Juvenile Musical Competition at MUSON Centre on May 27 with which the first phase of the celebration concludes.

He also noted that for 116 days, beginning from May 18, there would be testimonials on the impacts and memories of Oshoffa from individuals who encountered him either physically or spiritually.

He added that the revised edition of the church’s hymn book(Yoruba to English translation) which he was specifically instructed by Oshoffa to produce, would be unveiled in September as part of the 40th posthumous celebration and the 76 years lived by Oshoffa.

Meanwhile, the convener who warned against unscriptural practices, revealed that despite the proliferation by traditionalists posing as true shepherds, “CCC is sent by God to cleanse the world from all idols.”

Further advising CCC members, he said:“Let us leave the atmosphere of backbiting… When we follow scriptural leading, we will all be conformed to unity of faith. Unity will come when we are being evaluative in the way we worship our God…”
