Bayelsa: Otuaba Comm Gets New Youth Exco As President,Others Promises Dev.

Newly elected youth executives of Otuaba community of Ogbia Local Government Area,Bayelsa state yesterday promised to fast track the processes of development to their community.

Duo of the president, Otuaba youth movement,OYM,comrades Precious Oki and secretary,Abaioni Oru stated this at the community during their inspection tour of projects embarked upon by the new youth leadership upon their elections.

Oki,whose goes by the nickname, MMM and Miracle youth president respectively harped that his leadership would bring experience and dedication to bear in leading the community.

According to the erstwhile councillorship hopeful for former president Goodluck Jonathan’s Ogbia LGA Ward 13 in the last Local Government election in the state,that he and his exco members emerging as winners in a keenly contested polls goes long to showing their popularity in and around the community.

He described himself as faithful leader,saying the desire to lead peacefully and bring rapid development to the community burns in him.

Comrade Oki who restated his willingness to work with both winners and losers noted that this was not the first time he has contested for the youth presidency of the community which plays host alongside Otuoke to the Federal University in the area.

He emphasised that he has lost in the previous elections due to misunderstanding of his person and doubt by some of his capacity to lead youths of the community.

He said, “this is the second time I’m contesting for this position.In the last election I lost partly due to the misunderstanding if my person by some of the youth electorates.”

He added,”now that we’ve won this time around, you can see in less than one week after our election we’ve hit the ground running with many self help projects.”

He concluded,”the comatose community water scheme is now running, we’ve started rehabilitating the ailing and near dead trap internal walk ways in the community. So it’s said that to whom much is given,much is expected.We’re here to walk for the development of Otuaba.”
