Bayelsa Marks Thanksgiving Day …As Gov. Dickson Commends Citizens

The government and people of Bayelsa state last Friday thronged the state ecumenical centre, Igbogene in Yenagoa, the state capital to mark the state’s 7th thanksgiving day celebrations.

In his thanksgiving remarks, the state governor, Seriake Dickson eulogized Bayesians and residents for keeping faith in God and being supportive of the restoration administration.

The state chief Executive maintained that the Government and people of the state have a lot of reasons to appreciate God, saying the peace and development in Bayelsa was made possible by God, reassuring that due to the tranquility and orderliness enjoyed in the state statistics shows that state is one of the safest places to invest in in Nigeria.

According to the Governor, Bayelsa is the first and only state in the nation to have made a law creating a special day for thanksgiving.

speaking on the theme, “unfailing Grace: solemn Assembly” the general overseer of the church of God mission, Archbishop Margarete Idahosa, Pastor Paul Adefarasin of the House on the rock church and Bishop Yomi Isijola of Lagos ministries respectively charged Bayesians to have the fear of God, stressing that when the righteous are in leadership positions the people prosper.

According to the Men of God Bayelsa remains the envy of other states in the country because God has blessed the state with a visionary leader who has the fear of God and also reverence Him.

The clergies commended the Government of the state for setting a day aside as the state Thanksgiving day, emphasizing that with these kind of praises and thanks to God the state will be showered with more blessings and prosperity.

High points of the event includes intercessory Prayers to the three arms of Government of the state and the Local Government areas of the state, the  leadership of the nation, traditional rulers and the state workforce. Prayers were also offered towards the rapid development and transformation of the state.
