The 2025 Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ Memorial Webinar has been announced, with the theme “Our 21st Century World: Reflections and Projections.”
The virtual seminar aims to bring together policymakers, academics, industry leaders, and students to discuss the rapid transformations occurring across the globe.
The webinar will focus on four critical sub-themes: The Economy, Technology (with an emphasis on artificial intelligence), The North-South Dynamics, and Africa’s Options for Development.
Ambassador Dr. O. Awolọwọ Dosumu, convener of the webinar, stated that the event will provide an interdisciplinary platform for reflection and exploration of forward-thinking strategies to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
The webinar will examine the evolving trends in global trade, financial systems, and economic policies, as well as the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on industries, governance, and daily life.
Discussions will also delve into the historical and contemporary relationships between the Global North and Global South, with an emphasis on fostering equitable partnerships for mutual growth.
Furthermore, the webinar will spotlight Africa’s unique opportunities and challenges in an increasingly interconnected world, proposing actionable pathways for the continent’s progress.
The virtual seminar is scheduled to take place from 6pm on Thursday 6th March 2025, and is open to policymakers, academics, industry leaders, and students.
