Olabode Adaramola

A Governorship aspirant on the platform of  the  Niger State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP)  against the 2019 general elections ,  Engr.  Hanafi Mua’zu Sudan has said that  the ruling All Progressives Congress( APC) – led government  at the federal level and in the state, were  not living to the expectations of Nigerians.

He said rather than fulfilling some the campaign promises made by them in the areas of gainful employments to millions of unemployed youths roaming the steeets, creating condicieve environment for  economic growth and improving the living standards of the general populace, they have been engaged in blame games against the successive  administrations  at the federal and states levels.

The PDP chieftain also blamed the ruling party at the federal and the state levels for being  directly responsible for the socio- economic retrogelression being witnessed by the citizenry  across  the country presently, especially in Niger state.

Hnafi  stated this  in a Press release signed by him and made available to newsmen over the weekend   in Minna, the state capital, adding that  the citizenry, particularly, Nigerlites should not  be discouraged by the present  econmic hardship, poverty , unemployment and the ongoing fuel scarcity foisted on them   by the perceived insensitive  APC -led government.

He however  assured that Nigerians would hieve a sigh of relief  as the year 2019 general elections draw nearer, when he said the ruling APC government would be voted out of power by overwhelming votes of the Nigerian electorates who mistakenly voted them into power in 2015.

He said Nigerians  were tired of watching helplessly as the APC- led  government both at the national and the state  levels have continued to plung the nation into economic quagmire and social chaos .

According to Engnr. Hanafi M. Sudan, “very soon the storm will be over as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been repositioned and rebranded to regain power, come  2019”.

The gubernatorial aspirant specifically  blamed the current economic  woes and hopelessness  in Niger state  to lack of focus and commitment by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello- led administration in the state.

He accused  the governor of  gross incompetence and for dissolving his cabinet without adequate plan to put in place a formidable team that can take the state to a greater height.

He therefore charged the PDP members nationwide  and other party loyalists to remain  focused, steadfast,  irrespective of the  intimidation by  the  APC – led governments  both in the state and at the federal level.

He urged  PDP leaders and followers alike to   jealously guard  the  unity and genuine reconcilliation process with some  agrieved party members nationwide .

This, according to him  is with the view  to take over power democratically from what he described as clueless APC- led government come 2019 not only in Niger state but at the federal level, stressing that power  belongs to the Nigerian people   come 2019 general elections.

Hanafi , insisted  that the PDP, was poised at taking over  power in 2019, while  wishing  the people of the state and the Christian community in general across country a merry Christmas and a happy and  prosperous New Year in advance.

Meanwhile, the state’ s chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Barr. Tanko Beji has reiterated  commitment  of the party’s new   leadership especially at  the national level to mobilise all the members at the national, state and local government level towards “repositioning  and rebranding the party  to regain the positions  it mistakenly lost to the APC in 2015” .

He said,  “we will do everything legally possible to assume the political leadership of the state and country again”

Beji  stated this over the weekend in Minna  Sunday in Minna  while congratulating the christian community  in  the state on  the occasion of the  Christmas celebration.

He however pointed out  that as the citizenry prepared to  enter the new year,  thar there would  be heightening of political activities across the country, while advising prospective political aspirants and their followers  to  play politics  that is devoid of acrimony and character assassination

“We should not be swayed by the lust for money as this would only ensure the retention of the status quo. We, in the  PDP are  prepared to put things in their right perspectives when we retakes power in the country, by the grace of Almighty Allah .

He also pleaded with Nigerlites and Nigerians in general,  not to be discouraged by the current harsh economic situation in the country, saying, “very soon the storm will be over”.
