A group, Coalition of APC Image Makers in Niger State  have rejected the zoning of leadership positions for the 10th National Assembly and called on the President elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Working Committee( NWC) of the Party ( APC)  to revisit the issue.

In a press conference held at the NUJ Press center on Thursday  in Minna, aCo- converner, Comrade Shuibu  Awaisu Wana faulted the decision of the party to jettison ‘justice’ ‘equity’ and  ‘fairness’ in allotting leadership positions, adding that the  North -;Central geopolitical zone  and Niger stste in particular have been cheated/ marginalized.

He explained that since the Senate President and Speakership  positions.at the 10th National Assembly  have  been zoned to South-South and North-west , it can only be fair and just for the North- Central, and specifically Niger State to take up the Deputy Senate President’s  position.

He stated further that Senator Mohammed Sani Musa (313) was the right candidate for the job, considering his track record of performance in the red chamber.

Comrade Shuaibu Awaisu said the Senator representing Niger East at the National Assembly,Abuja  Senator Mohammed Sani Musa has made huge contributions in the last elections that ensured APC victory at the polls, including dolling out 100 campaign vehicles, donating offices in Abuja and Minna and mobilizing financial resources to prosecute the elections.

He said APC’s decision to zone National Assembly offices without giving anything to North-Central was the height of unfairness and injustice to the region.

“We therefore, reject the zoning of leadership positions of the 10th NASS and call on the President-Elect, Progressive Governors, and Party Leaders to revisit the issue, carrying the North Central along. We remind our party leaders that democracy thrives on the tripod of Justice, Equity, and Fairness”

“We strongly advocate for the Deputy Senate President position to be given to the North-Central, specifically Niger State. Doing so will promote fairness, equity, and national unity, and with Senator Musa as Deputy Senate President, Nigerians can expect effective representation, and the National Assembly can expect an experienced and competent leader” he declared .

The convener however  warned the leadership of the party against not responding to their demands as doing so will have consequences for the future of the stability of the party. He said where there’s injustice, loyalty should not be expected.
