It was teary moment Monday morning at the newly renamed Lagos State University of Science and Technology International Secondary School, Ikorodu when a woman protested the death of her only son, Abdurrahman Dauda who was reportedly chased to an oncoming vehicle on Sagamu Ikorodu Road, near the second gate of the school.
Abdurrahman, a fifteen year old Senior Secondary School 2 student was on Wednesday 19th October alledgely chased out of the school compound for an offence on the order of the school Principal, Mrs Janet Okitika.
It was also alledged that, some members of staff of the school including Mr Yusuf chased the boy out of the school gate and continued to pursue him outside the school and unto the Expressway where he a hit and run driver ran into him.
The new Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Muyiwa Odusanya who was on ground to pacify the bereaved mother, said although the incident is unfortunate as it is painful narrated the efforts he personally took when he made sure the boy was taken from Ikorodu General Hospital where he was first rushed to before he was taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital ( LASUTH),Ikeja where he had a surgery on that eventful Wednesday.
The family also confirmed that he and the team from the University were on ground at LASUTH providing support until the boy passed on three days later on Saturday, 22nd October.
The case which has since being reported at Ikorodu Division of the Nigeria Police, saw the Principal, Mr Yusuf and some others subsequently arrested.
The Vice Chancellor said the case is now with the police who said they will soon be charged to Court.
