What A Man Can Do!!! …As Newly Formed NSCDC Female Squad Starts Training

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command has commenced a three-week rigorous and intensive training towards developing capacity and effective Service delivery for the newly established Female Squad of the Command.

Addressing participants, the State Commandant of NSCDC, Comdt. Vincent Ogu, who was represented by the Head of Training Department, DCC Osiliem Alex, charged the officers to take the training seriously noting that the training would help them to perform their roles better.

Adding that it was in line with the directive of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Ahmed Audi explained that the aim of establishing the squad is to prevent the unprovoked and mindless attacks in schools.

It was learnt that the female would be fully deployed to schools to assist at warding off the illicit kidnapping of school children that have been rife recently.


Corrobarating that, Commandant Ogu reminded them that the Female Squad is structured as a proactive measure towards guaranteeing safety and restoring the confidence of students, parents, teachers and the communities where the schools are situated.

He further said that the Commandant General is interested in the squad to complement the efforts of their male counterparts, appealing to them to pay more attention so as to achieve the much desired results after the training.

Among the courses outlined for the training programme are; Parade, Combat Drill, Intelligence gathering, Weapon Handling Techniques, Report writing, Conflict Analysis and Resolutions, Public Relationship and Fundamental Human Right.

At the end of the training, the Squad is expected to collaborate with sister Security Agencies in combating Security challenges facing the nation.
