…as planned protests by Emefiele supporters in Abuja, other Cities uncovered
The Department of State Services (DSS) has advised the Nigerian public to ‘disregard the vituperations and rantings of misguided elements and not allow themselves to be used as instruments of destabilisation’.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
The statement stated categorically that the Service remains focused and committed to disseminating actionable intelligence to all the relevant agencies without sentiment. It added that it will not by any means ‘succumb to propaganda, intimidation and the desperation of hirelings to undermine’ it’s constituted duties.

DSS REMAINS FOCUSED ON ITS MANDATE
The Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to clarify that one of its roles is the investigation of matters of national security dimension. It has always discharged this responsibility in the overall interest of Nigerian citizens. As such, the Service will continue to disseminate actionable intelligence to the relevant authorities devoid of any sentiment.
While professionally discharging its mandate, the DSS pledges to remain focused and unbiased. It will not, by any means, succumb to propaganda, intimidation and the desperation of hirelings to undermine it. It will also not give room to the use of falsehood and deceit to misdirect public understanding and perceptions of issues of national importance.
Given not to joining issues, the Service warns those on a wild goose chase to be mindful of their actions. Similarly, it urges members of the public to disregard the vituperations and rantings of misguided elements and not allow themselves to be used as instruments of destabilisation.
Notably, these elements should remember the famous axiom that “you will only deceive some people, some of the time, but not all people, all the time”. To put it succinctly, the Service will not be distracted by persons and/or groups from carrying out its duties to the Nation, citizens, President and Commander-in-Chief. Citizens are, therefore, urged to avoid being used to thwart or undermine the Service and its lawful investigations as those who wish to act in the breach will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
Meanwhile, a planned protest by some groups loyal to the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, to stage ‘massive protests’ across various cities of Nigeria, including Abuja, Lagos, Asaba, Port Harcourt, Kaduna and Kano, has been uncovered.
The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) learnt from a reliable source that the massive protests, which was decided late Monday night, during a meeting allegedly organised by the duo of Toochukwu Ohazuruike and Godwin Meliga at Rockview Hotel, Abuja, will commence on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 and run through to Friday, December 23, 2022.
“Throughout this week, we agreed to protest from Wednesday till Friday. We are ready to protest on Friday. We want those going for Jumat to join us. It is a Bichi Must Go protest,” the source said.
Recall that Abuja was on Monday, 19th December rocked by protests staged by a coalition of groups that accused the DSS of instituting a court case against the CBN Governor over allegations of terrorism financing.
Meanwhile, the DSS, in a statement earlier released by its public Relations Officer, Perer Afunanya, and made available to NAOSNP, advised the public not to be swayed by opinions of detractors, maintaining that it would not be distracted by activities of hirelings.
