Command Day Secondary School (CDSS) Ikeja has emerged triumphant at the 81 Division Inter-Command Secondary Schools Sports Competition 2026, held from February 10-12, 2026, at the General Tukur Yusuf Buratai Sports Complex, Lagos. The school’s victory is a testament to their exceptional performance, discipline, and resilience.
The competition brought together five Command schools, including CDSS Oshodi, Ojo, Bonny Cantonment, and Ipaja, for a thrilling display of sportsmanship and teamwork. CDSS Ikeja’s win was a result of their outstanding performance across various sporting events.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour and General Officer Commanding 81 Division Major General Adebayo Babalola, represented by the Commander 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi, praised the students for showcasing remarkable strength and spirit.
He urged them to cherish the friendships forged and apply the lessons of perseverance and determination to their future endeavours.
Earlier in her remarks, the Director 81 Division Education Services, Colonel Olatoke Olubo, commended the students for their outstanding participation, noting that the event had instilled discipline, resilience, and sterling leadership qualities among the students.
The final standings saw CDSS Bonny Cantonment came 5th, Command Secondary School Lagos 4th, CDSS Oshodi 3rd, Command Secondary School Ojo 2nd, and CDSS Ikeja as overall winner.
In a statement on Friday, the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 81 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya added that the event was attended by senior officers, including the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Islamic Affairs, and Director, Institute of Army Education, who applauded the students’ efforts and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence.
