Veda Foods and Beverages, a limited liability an agro-processing company stylishly launched four made in Nigerian products in Lagos yesterday.
The company produces heathy food synergies, particularly nutritionally balanced breakfast cereals and flours from a blend of carefully selected and delicately processed whole grains, legumes and nuts.
The idea is to bringing in something different than what we have on ground. To show that there is a product and services that are valueable to the people. The products are made right here in Nigeria by Nigerian and for Nigerians.
Veda Food is the enterprenurer side of the Journalist and Founder of the company, Catherine Agbo. “Veda Foods is the enterprenurer side of me. I should be able to add value to the society and solve problems that exists in the society” she said.
“I started farming in 2017, but I started processing in 2018. The farm is located in Odoko village in Nassarawa State. The factory is in Kwari Area Council in Abuja. Most of what we process is gotting from our farm, we grow, we process”.
When I venture into farming some years back and keep it the problems of post harvest lost in Nigeria which has been exhibited to be about 50% and I wouldn’t reconcile that with what I have seen now in the field as a Journalist in keeping the cases of malnutrition.
We have a poor and million of children that are suffering and I say to myself how can we be wasting so much food when there is so much food when there is so much hunger and malnutrition in the country. It was at that point I make a decision to be the part of solution to that problem by becoming a food processor to add value to what we have and preserve it.
Agbo charge the audience to patronize the foods in her speech. She said she is launching four products from her company. “Today am launching four of my products: Grainsnut instant cereals, fonio & finger millet cereals with Chia seeds, fonio & finger millet cereals with chia seeds, and fonio & finger millet cereals with Chia & sesame seeds”.
So you can see that all of the product that I have are grains based. And that was because when I started to look for a solution for problem. I started with what I have I had on my farm so that time grain on the farm and I thought of what I could do to add value to them and that was how I came out with these products.
Agbo later thank all the audience for coming. As the people are inspired by what was displayed and new crops of entrepreneurs emerge. “Thank you for coming today and we hope by the time you live here today, you be truly inspire by what we are going to show you. And we are hopeful that from all of you gather here, there will be a new crop of entrepreneur because of what you are looking for going to see”. She added.
“Our products all they are natural, they are preservative free and contain no artificial additives and anything you buy from us you are getting more than the value of one. Because everything we sell is a product of food synergies because we know that some foods we have are nutrient deficienct. So we use other ones to compliment them. Basically we make food synergies”. She concluded.
Veda foods offers a range of quality product using the finest ingredients, quality control procedures and ultra-modern hygienic processes, to maintain top grade standard of its products. Among the dignitaries that grace the occasion are: Mimi Atedze, Ms Victoria Ibanga, Abimbola Ali and Dr. Tokunbo Yakubu-Oyinloye among many audience.
