Trading on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday May 3, 2018 closed with the share price of Unity Bank Plc topping the gainers table with 10 kobo to close at N1.15 kobo gaining 9.52 percent.
Just as the key market indicators went down by 0.48 percent, bringing the year to date return to 7.49 percent. Specifically the All Share Index closed at 41,107.81 against the previous close of 41,306.02 while Market Capitalization closed at ₦14.890 trillion against previous close of ₦14.962 trillion.
Volume traded increased by 15.98 percent from 276.242 million to 320.395 million, while the total value of stock traded decreased by 30.91 percent from ₦6.890 billion to ₦4.761 billion in 4,482 deals. The Financial Services sector led the activity chart with 243.508 million shares exchanged for ₦2.766 billion.
Consumer Goods came next with 29.298 million shares traded for ₦1.305 billion, Ict, Oil And Gas, Conglomerates sectors followed in that order on the activity chart. United Bank for Africa Plc, Access Bank Plc, Etranzact Plc, Zenith Bank Plc and FBN Holding Plc were the most active stocks by volume.
Unity Bank Plc, Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc, Jaiz International Bank Plc, Cutix Plc and UAC Nigeria Plc emerged the highest price gainers. While International Breweries Plc, Dangote Sugar Plc, Dangote Flour Plc, Eterna Plc and Oando Plc topped the losers chart. In all 105 companies shares were traded with 25 gainers and 25 losers, with zero price changes.
