In a move aimed at easing access to UK visa services for Nigerians, VFS Global has announced the opening of two new Premium Application Centres in Enugu and Port Harcourt.
These centres, located at Omedel Luxury Hotel and Hotel Presidential respectively, are now open for booking through https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/gbr/.
The expansion comes just ahead of the busy summer travel season and is part of efforts to cater to the increasing number of Nigerian travellers heading to the United Kingdom. Nigeria ranks among the top four countries globally in terms of UK visit visa applications, accounting for 6% of the global total, according to recent figures.
Rt Sir Hon Lord David Hanson, UK Minister of State at the Home Office, expressed the government’s commitment to strengthening UK–Nigeria relations. “In 2024 we received more than 230,000 visa applications from Nigerian nationals across all visa routes. These new premium application centres will provide greater convenience for applicants in and around Enugu and Rivers State,” he said.
Mr. Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, said the new centres were strategically launched to meet growing demand. “We are pleased to open the additional, conveniently located touchpoints in Enugu and Port Harcourt. Our customers will continue to enjoy the same comfort, convenience, and best-in-class services available in our Abuja and Lagos centres,” he said.
In addition to submitting visa applications and enrolling biometrics, customers using the Premium Centres can access value-added services such as document upload assistance, application status notifications, and courier return of documents. A notable offering is the “Keep My Passport While Applying” service, which allows applicants to retain their passports during processing and only resubmit them once a decision has been made.
VFS Global, which has been a trusted partner to UK Visas and Immigration since 2003, currently manages UK visa services in 142 countries.
