Ondo State-based Treasure Newspaper has organised its first-ever Public Lecture and Awards event to celebrate distinguished figures in it’s immediate society.
With the theme: “Homegrown Economy: A Roadmap for Economic Sustainability Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration,” the event under the leadership of Emmanuel Adeniran, Editor-in-Chief of the media organisations,
drew notable personalities from Ondo State and Nigeria’s media industry, along with esteemed citizens and supporters of the media.
The keynote address was delivered by Olusegun Mayegun, former President of the University of Lagos Student Union and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), emphasizing the pivotal role of the economy in societal development and the need for governmental initiatives to foster economic growth.
In attendance was Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, who commended Treasure Newspaper as a reputable media organization. Akinlosotu pledged the administration’s commitment to media-friendly policies, urging journalists to uphold accuracy, objectivity, and professionalism, especially in the upcoming election year.
Acknowledging the publisher of Treasure Newspaper, Akinlosotu extended congratulations to all award recipients, affirming the government’s willingness to collaborate with media houses for the benefit of the state.
