TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc has released its Q4 2025 unaudited financial results, revealing a loss per share of NGN9.06 compared to earnings per share (EPS) of NGN1.17 in Q4 2024.
This significant decline is attributed to a 27.4% year-over-year decrease in revenue, driven by lower sales volumes and weaker product pricing across its business segments.
An x-ray of the company’s financial, showed TotalEnergies’ Q4 revenue dropped by 27.4% year-over-year to NGN767.63 billion, reflecting a broad-based decline across its business segments, including Network, General Trade, and Aviation. For the full year 2025, the loss per share stood at NGN50.59, down from a profit of NGN80.99 per share in 2024.
Despite the revenue decline, the company’s gross margin increased by 17 basis points year-over-year to 9.1% in Q4 2025, due to a faster decline in cost of sales relative to revenue.
EBITDA and EBIT margins contracted by 59 basis points and 155 basis points year-over-year to 3.8% and 2.1%, respectively, largely due to the decline in other income.
According to analyst report, the company expects the 2026 fiscal year to remain challenging, with persistent competitive dynamics and softer product pricing likely to constrain near-term margin expansion.
They have issued a sell recommendation, citing potential downside risks.
TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc delivered a record-breaking financial performance in 2024, with revenue soaring 64% to ₦1.04 trillion and profit-after-tax rising 113% to ₦27.5 billion, driven by higher petroleum prices and increased demand. The company, now the second-largest downstream player, saw a 140% surge in pre-tax profit, and shareholders were rewarded with a ₦40 per share final dividend.
