Tornadoes FC’s Technical Adviser showers praises on player despite 0-1 loss

Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes FC, Coach,  Abubakar  Bala  has shower praises on his players for their display on match day 3, despite losing 0-1 to Rivers United at the Gen Yakubu Gowon Stadium in PortHarcort, Sunday.

Rivers United scored the only goal of the game in the 20th minute through their foreign import Guy Kuemian  with assist from Niger Tornadoes loaned player Lukman Mohammed after beating the offside trap set by their visitors.

Coach Bala said that he knew from the unset that the game would be a tough one, therefore he came with a perfect plan to secure a win but unfortunate his boys momentarily loss of concentration gave their host the chance to score the only goal of the game.

“We had our chances too to score, but Sunday Rotimi’s heroics deny us from equalizing. We could have come out with at least a point from the match.

“You observed that we made quick substitutions in the second half thus we came out much stronger and performed better than we did in the first half, yet we could not get the goal we desired”,said the Technical Adviser

Niger Tornadoes proved handy for the Pride of Rivers to handle in the second half, a well taken shot from a free kick by Ikhide Ibrahim Idele was unconventional saved, and Ajoku Chidebere shot missed the target just by an inch.

According to the coach, the cohesion in the team is now much better, so he has focused his mind on the next match against Wikki Tourists when they host them at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja on Wednesday in a midweek fixture.
